HOW DOES IT WORK?
Lowy’s 2D art reproductions for personal use are created in four separate stages: photograph, print, enhance and display. Every art reproduction is clearly marked as a copy on the back of the piece and, as the owner of the original work, you are required to formally acknowledge the piece is a copy not to be used for unlawful purposes.
PHOTOGRAPH
Lowy photographs your original 2D work of art in our digital photography studio using specialized camera and lighting equipment to create an extremely large, high resolution, color-accurate digital image that captures all the subtle nuances of the artwork.
After a work is photographed, Lowy prints the high resolution digital image onto the appropriate medium, such as canvas or paper.
ENHANCE
Once a work of art has been photographed and printed, Lowy’s art conservators stretch or mount the reproduction depending on the medium. Then they enhance the print using specialized techniques to mimic any 3D qualities of the original artwork including brushstrokes and impasto.
DISPLAY
The finishing touch to any art reproduction is custom framing. Collectors often have Lowy create an antique reproduction frame of the original artwork’s frame so the completed reproduction looks remarkably similar to the original. However some collectors choose to display their new reproduction in a new frame style.
